Additional details
  • Swallow Beck CL is a great option for nature lovers seeking a getaway with easy access to nearby attractions.

Stud Season
  • Be aware of occasional vet visits in May, June, and July while ponies are being bred and mares are giving birth. This may involve some activity on the site.
  • The site has remote viewing HD CCTV cameras so not matter what, we can check the safety of our site.

Ground Conditions
  • The campsite has a flat, level ground surface.
  • However, a layer of gravel lies about 4 inches below the surface. We recommended the use of drill-in pegs. This might be helpful to know when packing camping equipment.
  • You'll enjoy scenic views of the South Downs National Park from the campsite.

Dedication and Investment: It took us 4 years and approximately £30k for the site to be finally approved and permitted to open.
Swallow Beck CL is regulated through a range of organisations to uphold specific conditions.
·         Caravan and Motorhome Club
·         Chichester District Council
·         Natural England
·         Animal Welfare

Animals, their Welfare, Scary Things like Awnings & Crisp Packets!
  • Awnings: Please be mindful of the ponies when erecting your awning to minimise any disturbance.

Wildlife Awareness
  • Fox & Crows can be attracted to unsecured refuse, creating a mess and potential safety hazards. Keep all your waste securely contained in designated bins to avoid attracting wildlife.
  • Waste Disposal: Use the designated grey waste area for emptying your waste containers. This helps maintain a clean and safe environment for both visitors and wildlife.

Cat - Shmoo
We have a yard cat, 'Shmoo' who is a much-loved member of our family. He does essential work for us and diligently keeps the rabbits and vermin down. Shmoo has a GPS tracker on at all times.
  • Indoor domestic cats are welcome as long as they are microchipped and kept inside your van or camper.
  • Using a tracker for indoor cats is encouraged as an extra precaution.  You know what cats are like! We've taken our cats on holidays with us many times and I've also ended up face down under an awning zipper, hanging onto a cat's tail narrowly avoiding having an escapee!! Neither party was too pleased!!
  • Please be aware that we cannot be held liable/responsible for any cats getting lost, lose, death or injury as a result of staying on our site.  They stay at your own risk.
